John Burnell has been a business-to-business (B2B) communications professional since 1990 and founded Burnell Reports in 2002. He has worked with organizations that have been at the forefront of advancing some of the most important technologies and business trends of our time, including mobile computing, outsourcing, virtualization and healthcare transformation.

Prior to founding Burnell Reports, John Burnell spent 12 years in B2B publishing at Edgell Communications and Advanstar Communications, where he covered the automatic identification and data collection (AIDC) industry. Burnell helped launch the Frontline Solutions magazine and exhibition, served as the editor-in-chief of the publication and its predecessor, Automatic ID News, and led its sister publications in Europe and Asia. Burnell has also spoken at and helped organize numerous industry exhibitions and conferences around the world, and was inducted to the AIDC 100, which honors contributors to the AIDC. While a business press journalist, Burnell won numerous awards from the ASBPE, ABP, SPJ and other organizations, served as a judge for the Jesse H. Neal Awards.
